Welcome to Gîte La Petite Chouette, a small, independent holiday cottage in the north-west of the Combrailles, in the Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne.

La Petite Chouette is officially classified as a 1-star “Meublé de tourisme” for a capacity of 2 people.

A small cottage for two
La Petite Chouette is a detached holiday cottage for a maximum of 2 people.
Set in a peaceful rural environment, the cottage has its own outdoor space, terrace and a big garden where you can enjoy the quiet of the Auvergne countryside.
The cottage includes:
- one bedroom with a double bed
- a cosy living room
- a kitchen
- a bathroom
- a private terrace and garden
- heating for cooler days
- a pellet stove for cosy evenings
Bed linen and towels are included.
Peace instead of entertainment
There is no animation, no constant traffic and no city noise here.
And there is no Wi-Fi.
That is not an oversight – it is a choice.
La Petite Chouette is a place where you can put your phone aside and enjoy your surroundings.
Mobile 4G/5G is generally available if you need it.
But otherwise, you can simply switch off.
A little digital break in the heart of nature.
Nature right outside your door
The Combrailles is one of the lesser-known and beautifully unspoilt areas of the Auvergne.
Rolling hills, forests, meadows, small villages and quiet country lanes shape the landscape.
You can set off on foot directly from Gite La Petite Chouette and explore the surrounding countryside.
A short morning walk, a longer hike or simply a stroll through the landscape...
Here, you don't have to try to see everything.
Instead, you can take the time to notice things.

Your dog is very welcome here.
The area around Gîte La Petite Chouette is perfect for walks and hikes.
Lots of nature, very little traffic and plenty of paths to explore.
A place where your dog can breathe… and so can you.
Please note: the garden is currently fenced with barbed wire but not yet fully enclosed. We are working on this: by 2027, the entire garden will be fully enclosed with wire mesh fencing!
Simply enjoy
We don't believe that a holiday always has to be luxurious or spectacular.
Sometimes it is the simplest things that make a stay special:
Drinking tea on the terrace.
Taking a long walk in nature.
Reading a good book in the sunshine.
Enjoying a glass of wine in the evening.
Hearing the silence.
And perhaps a dog happily lying beside you.
For us, that's what simple pleasures are all about.
